Who am I?

I am a psychotherapist/counsellor qualified to Post-Graduate/Masters Level 7, with 30+ years of experience working within therapeutic and social care environments.

Before qualifying as a therapist, I supported individuals in a variety of settings, including with the LGBTQ Foundation in Manchester, UK, within youth centres and on the streets as an outreach worker, with adults at different stages of the criminal justice system, and alongside adults dealing with substance abuse, housing and employment issues and the breakdown of relationships.

I am an LGBTQIA+ affirmative practitioner living as queer, and the breadth and depth of my personal and professional experiences has led me to supporting a diverse range people, folks just like you.

My role as a therapist is inextricably linked with my experiences as a therapy client. As a result of my own therapeutic journey, I have developed a deep respect and appreciation for this process, that to receive acceptance and validation without judgement and criticism has had a profound, positive and lasting impact on my own mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Just like you, I am a multifaced individual, a uniquely complex blend of nature and nurture, of identity and personality, of history and ‘my story’.

I am not a ‘fixed’ human being, but rather my perceptions and interactions with the world are continually evolving, from how I view my past, how I cope in the present, to how I might feel about my future.
